Perceived sociocultural factors affect women's participation in watershed management

Women reproductive role and domestic engagements drive them to know about the environment as they interact with it providing for household. They are real subsistence farmers their in natural resource management projects is so crucial that without participation no efficient sustained results can be imagined. A descriptive research design was used meet objective set forth study. Uttarakhand has been selected universe of Out 13 districts two namely Uttarkashi Bageshwar were purposively locale proposed More than half (52 percent) belonged middle age group followed by 40 percent who young group. In hills, old ones busy social gatherings, or middle-aged people generally engaged farming. The educational status respondents indicates 80 illiterate read-only. study area dominated general caste category (81.66 either Brahmins Thakurs.
